Red-Ribbon Week

Three people posing in a gym, one in gold costume, one holding basketball, one in Fred Flintstone costume.

Say No to Drugs:

Drugs affects the mind and body! Some people are genetically predisposed to drugs. Therefore, experimenting with drugs can destroy lives. You can't miss a substance that you've never tried. Buffy prompts students to think of someone that they know personally that uses drugs as an example of how their lives can turn out. This is a sobering reminder of what not to do. The ability to wake up to see a new day is a reason to be high on life. .

Special Note: For elementary students, Buffy uses words like: Just say No, drugs are bad for you and get high on life.

Peer Pressure:

Students should be leaders and not follow others that make bad choices. Think twice before making a choice. Buffy encourages students to make good choices as opposed to trying drugs which can be detrimental to their future. Students should not experiment with drugs due to peer pressure from individuals that aren't likely to be in their adult life..

Special Note: The following message is geared more toward high school students.

Spirits

Alcohol and drugs are spirits that alters minds and personality. The word alcohol and spirits are synonymous with each other because of the nature of alcohol. Substances can impair judgement in making life altering decisions. One should err on the side of caution when consuming alcohol and say no to drugs.
