About Buffy
Buffy's Childhood:
Buffy Coleman was born to John and Mattie Coleman.. He was born in Minden, which is about 30 miles east of Shreveport, La. However, he was reared in the nearby small village of Heflin. He learned good morals and the essential values of life from his mother and father. They instilled in him during his early childhood to treat others the way he wanted to be treated. These values has continued in to his professional life. Buffy travels to major cities but he's a country boy at heart and loves the peace and quiet of rural America.
Fast forward, Buffy Coleman is now one of the most requested motivational entertainers in America, Buffy has been seen on TV (NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, and heard on numerous radio stations around the country sharing his story. He has entertained several celebrities; Diana Ross.
Love for Basketball:
Buffy was about five years old when he began to develop a passion for the game of basketball. He wasn’t quite big enough to shoot hoops in a regulation-sized goal, so he practiced by throwing a tennis ball into a garbage can, pretending it was a basketball rim.. He started playing basketball in elementary school and continued through high school. It doesn't snow much in Louisiana. However, whenever it snowed, It didn't stop Buffy from playing the game that he loved.
A basketball Wizard was born:
His father, John C. Coleman, built Buffy a regulation size basketball goal when he was thirteen years old. Buffy played day and night after completing his homework.
Buffy realized he had potential to be an amazing basketball trickster and play for famous show basketball teams such as the world famous Harlem Wizards & Harlem Globetrotters. When he was in high school, he was so crafty with the basketball, after practice, his teammates would gather around him as he did dribbling exhibitions and tricks. Over time, the crowd got bigger and bigger.
The life changing phone call:
On September 3, 1993, he received a phone call from Marvin Walters, who was then the chief scout for the Harlem Globetrotters. Buffy was invited to the Globetrotters’ Training Camp. That’s when Coleman realized that he has special talent..
